Annual Membership Meeting

Wednesday, September 1, 2004

Sebasco Harbor Resort, Sebasco Estates, Maine

1. Call to Order: President, Laurie Smith, called the meeting to order at 12:45 p.m.

2. President’s Report: Laurie Smith reported on the past year as the President of MTCMA. She reported on the benefit of the Retreat and what valuable information comes from those meetings. She also reported on the Palesky issue. Laurie thanked her Executive Board for their hard work and dedication to the Association.

3. Secretary’s Report: The membership reviewed the minutes from the Annual Meeting of August 28, 2003. John Anderson made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Stu Marckoon, all approved August 28, 2003 Annual Meeting Minutes.

4. Treasurer’s Report: Nathan Poore reported that the Financial Report was in order. David Cole made a motion to accept the Financial Report, seconded by Tom Stevens, all approved the Financial Report for the period ending December 31, 2003.

5. Strategic Plan: Laurie Smith reported on the retreat. She reported to the membership on what the Executive Board accomplished on Day 1 and Day 2. She further discussed the Association’s goals and action items. She noted that the sponsorship have allowed MTCMA to keep the fees for Interchange, Institute, and other trainings low. Also, the Professional Development Committee has been able to have quality speakers.

6. Committee Reports: John Anderson made a motion to accept all Committee Reports, except the Nominating Committee report, as presented in the 2004 Annual Report. This was seconded by Stu Marckoon and all approved.

h. Nominating Committee - Presentation of the 2004-2005 Slate of Officers:

Nat Tupper read the Slate of Officers to the membership. The Slate read as follows:

President: Ruth Marden, Jay

Vice-President: Nathan Poore, Kennebunkport

2 nd Vice President &Treasurer: Dana Lee, Mechanic Falls

Immediate Past President: Laurie Smith, Auburn

2005: Judith Doore, Monson and Larry Cote, Van Buren

2006: Stu Marckoon, Lamoine and Richard Davis, Farmington

2007: Nat Tupper, Yarmouth and Steve Dyer, Monmouth

2008: Jane Jones, Milo and John Anderson, Boothbay Harbor

No nominations were taken from the floor. David Cole made a motion to accept the Slate of Officers as presented. Mike McGovern seconded the motion. All approved.

Laurie Smith introduced the incoming president – Ruth Marden.

9. Adjourn: Stu Marckoon made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mike McGovern seconded the motion, all approved to adjourn the meeting at 1:15 p.m.
